PSA 143:10

Teach me to do what pleases you,
for you are my God.
May your kind presence
lead me into a level land. -NET Bible

My first thought on this is that we should look at who wrote this! David was considered by God to a man that was “after God’s own heart”! (Acts 13:22, 1 Sam 13:14) Now, much later in life, look at what David is asking God to do! The man that follows God’s own heart, is asking for direction. Should we not be asking God to lead us every day?

The level ground for David could be very literal, not figurative like we think of today. These could be the thoughts of David as he was being chased by King Saul prior to David’s anointing as king. David literallly lived in the mountains during that time.
